It’s no secret that American men are in crisis. Recent studies show that, compared to women, young men are four times more likely to commit suicide, and more than 60 percent of young men are single. This signals a larger breakdown in the social, romantic and sexual life of the American male. It’s not just mental health either; evolutionary psychology is also being ignored by the American Psychological Association (APA). Experts such as Christopher J. Ferguson have accused the APA of “waging war” against men and boys, and with APA-approved narratives being fed to therapists, the current crisis of masculinity is unlikely to be addressed.
