A recent paper reveals that partners who have diametrically opposed opinions about the meaning of work may have a longer job hunt than those who agree with their partners. The researchers found that this is because such a mismatch heightens one’s feelings of uncertainty towards work. For example, a person who values work purely as a money-making venture may have second thoughts about taking a job after talking with their partner, who prefers working in a position that aligns closely with their values. AI Predicts Crime A Week In Advance With 90 Per Cent Accuracy
An artificial intelligence model built by Ishanu Chattopadhyay and his colleagues analysed crime data in Chicago from 2014 to 2016 and managed to predict future levels of crime down to the nearest 300 metres, a week before they actually happened. While extremely useful, this artificial intelligence has been shown to expose racial prejudice in law enforcement.
