In Austria, sometimes you have to wait as long as eight months to see a psychologist. Civio’s Medicamentalia researchers have found three barriers to mental health treatment in Europe: price, limited sessions, and lack of psychologists and other experts. The last barrier seems particularly harmful; they note that those who need the most help likely cannot afford to wait it out or sacrifice up to four days of wages for a private consultation.
