How do you design and build throw-away aircraft?

Flight simulations seem to be the key to fulfilling the US Air Force’s dream of a disposable unmanned aircraft. By utilising model-based systems engineering — a common set of digital designs that govern flight simulations among other things — to create digital replicas of aircraft, engineers are able to test how different changes will impact an aircraft’s performance versus cost in a variety of environments and situations without having to build real aircraft themselves.
